With offline machine downloading, the scanner is connected directly to the machine. Either via USB or RS232 cable. By scanning the 2D barcode on the label, all necessary data is transmitted to the machine.

Thermal transfer printers are recommended for tags on the roll. One of the advantages is the fast printing of individu-al tags, e.g. for printing tags directly on the machine. However, the use of colour ribbons means that only monochrome printing is possible. The DTM printer combines the advantages of a laser printer and roll material, but is limited in print width.
